In late 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly Donald Trump's chief strategist, was in the UK to deliver a address at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The speech was interrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that evening, told Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Protesters delayed my talk I doubt I can make the plane we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 950 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an amazing assistant".

These exchanges were released on this week together with over 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the Congressional committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's name is redacted. Media outlets has been able to confirm his identity by cross-referencing the dates, occurrences, and places mentioned.

For instance, Epstein talks about arranging a plane from Scotland for the redacted user in the chat, and offers praise their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on 14 November, and delivered the speech at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, did not reply on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon served as the president's key aides in the run up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but stepped down from the administration in August 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a documentary about Epstein before his death and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his show recently, he stated: "We're going to publish the film, the five-part series, next year - early next year."

But the newly released materials suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile at times seeming to act like a aide.

A few days before the conversation in which Epstein seemed to arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the most highly paid booking agent in history ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r pretty good asst", to which Epstein responded "Massages. Excluded".

Discussing a trip to "AD" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I'll make sure you're taken care of."

British Affairs Mentioned in Exchanges

The released messages also reveal Bannon and Epstein discussing British political matters in 2018.

On the day of his speech at the Oxford Union, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the EU exit issue this morning with Farage, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a allusion to Theresa May, the embattled UK prime minister at the period, he continued: "They are trying to move on. May today / tomorrow…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "In my view staying as long as you can in the UK. Best-- so people get the commitment of your follow-up."

Soon after, Epstein asked: "Can Theresa May survive". Bannon answered: "I don't see how BUT the people here have little courage" and noted "Boris ; Gove; Rees Mogg; Davis - someone has to step up".

Theresa May was finally toppled in May 2019 after withstanding two votes of lack of support in December 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK told the BBC: "Nigel Farage has not been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest such a meeting took place.

The US House of Representatives will decide next week on whether the Department of Justice should release all its files related to its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in prison in 2019.

Attention in Epstein's relationships with powerful figures was reignited this week after the publication of more than 20,000 documents from his estate.
